Providencia is a Colombian Island, forming part of the Archipelago of San Andres, lying in the Caribbean Sea. The only ferry route departing the port is to San Andres, a popular tourist destination, lasting around three hours and supplied by Conocemos Navegando.

What is there to do in Providencia?

Scuba diving, snorkelling and swimming are popular pastimes for visitors and locals alike; fully qualified instructors offer guidance for beginners, whereas those with more experience can explore the waters at their own leisure. For an afternoon indulging in an activity somewhere in between sunbathing and scuba diving, walking trails decorate the landscape, affording incredible vistas of the surrounding scenery. Boat tours are also popular with anyone hoping to witness the mountainous island as a refreshing sea breeze keeps you cool.

How do you get around Providencia?

Numerous ways exist to travel around the island; moped and bicycle hire companies provide good value for money, and for quick and convenient transport there are also taxis readily available. Moto-taxis usually circulate half of the island, providing easy transportation if you’re not in a hurry.
