Pythagorio is situated on the west coast of the Greek island of Samos, laying to the east of mainland and only a few kilometres away from the Turkish west coast. Many ferry routes depart the port, heading to coastal resorts around Greece and Turkey.
Arki’s picturesque harbour, named ‘Port Augusta’, is situated at the head of an inlet on the southwest coast. The port is a popular yachter’s destination, with the surrounding islets offering fantastic island-hopping opportunities. With under 50 inhabitants, a small supermarket and a few ancient ruins, Arki provides an escape from the busier Greek islands. Due to the port’s size, there is only one journey a week provided to each of the nearby Dodecanese Islands.
