Pointe a Pitre is the second largest city on the island of Guadeloupe, an overseas region of France located in the Caribbean. Due to its convenient location between Guadeloupe’s two biggest islands, it has effectively become the capital. The Pointe a Pitre ferry port on the south coast of the island, located right next to Aeroport de Pointe-a-Pitre Le Raizet. The port is easily accessible by public transport, with regular buses like A41, A98, B10, B20 and B21 all stopping directly outside the ferry terminal. Alternatively, there are taxi services available. However, traffic is renowned for being very busy in Guadeloupe. The port is about 5 minutes away from downtown Pointe a Pitre. The new terminal has a variety of facilities for passengers to enjoy including a bar, luggage storage, disabled access, toilets and car rental agencies nearby.
