The Spanish town and port of Los Cristianos is located on the Canary Island of Tenerife. The centre of the town is around Los Cristianos Bay but is gradually expanding inland. There are many older building that remain in the town which pre-date the increase in tourism which began in the late 20th century. The town has two beaches, made up of black volcanic sand, and a number of bars, restaurants and clubs that cater for the increase in visitor numbers. In the promenade area of the town, away from the beaches, there are many shops including boutiques, designer labels and many other places to pick up a bargain.
By following the promenade to the west, Los Cristianos gradually blends into Playa de las Americas which has a reputation of the being the party capital of Tenerife. This is because it has many nightclubs and bars but also has an excellent selection of shops. For a more sedate way to spend your time, take a ferry to the island of La Gomera where visitors will find rainforests waiting to be explored. The crossing to La Gomera takes around 70 minutes.
From the town's port, ferries can be taken to Valverde, San Sebastian de la Gomera and Santa Cruz de La Palma.
