The Italian city of Pescara is located in the Abruzzo region of Italy and lies on the Adriatic Sea coast, at the mouth of the Aterno-Pescara River. There are lots to see and do in the city with its long sandy beach perfect for lazing on and its Old Town and city centre perfect for shopping and sightseeing and for lovers of nature the area around the city is perfect for trekking or cycling.
Perhaps the best way to explore the city is on foot and the route should include the Corso Umberto I, the Piazza Rinascita and the Piazza Primo Maggio. Buildings of interest are the Provincial Government Building and the City Hall which are located in Piazza Italia and the Corso Monthone, which is the Old City's main street, and the centre of the Pescara's nightlife. One of the most visited sites in Pescara is the birthplace of Gabriele D'Annunzio and also the Vittoria Colonna Museum of Modern Art.
From the port in Pescara there are ferries and hydrofoils to Split and Stari Grad in Croatia.
