About Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is the second largest country in the Caribbean, sharing its island with Haiti to the west. Offering the Caribbean’s most diverse terrain, the Dominican Republic has something for everyone, from thrill seekers to fun-in-the-sun lovers. One day you’ll be trekking through dense rainforest and the next you’ll be soaking up the rays on a powdery white beach. Another one of the country’s top attractions is the wide choice of excellent, year-round golf courses. Its boasts some impressive accolades including the Caribbean’s highest point and largest lake, as well as the America’s first cathedral, castle and monastery in Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone, so there’s plenty to see and do in this beautiful country. The Dominican Republic’s primary port can be found in the capital, Santo Domingo on the south coast which is served by a large network of roads including the DR-1 highway. The port is a useful gateway to the neighbouring island country of Puerto Rico to the east, with frequent sailings provided each week to San Juan on the north coast.

About Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States, in the northeast corner of the Caribbean, between the Dominican Republic and the US Virgin Islands. The ‘Island of Enchantment’; steeped in swashbuckling history with dazzling shorelines and a vibrant culture, Puerto Rico has a never ending choice of tourist delights. In true Caribbean style, it boasts brilliant beaches, suited to pro-surfers and family beach-lovers alike, while the rain-forested interior offers challenges for even the hardiest of hikers. San Juan, the capital city on the Atlantic coast, has colonial architecture in abundance, watched over by El Morro and La Fortaleza, two enormous fortresses affording unbeatable views of the island. Ferries regularly link the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, with a few overnight sailings every week from Santo Domingo to the Puerto Rican capital, San Juan.
