Port Denarua is on a small private island in the northwest corner of Fiji’s mainland, Viti Levu. It is the main gateway to some of the beautiful islets along the northwest coast and is just twenty minutes from Nadi International Airport by car. Malolo Island Resort rests on one of the islands laying near Fiji in the Pacific Ocean, belonging to the Mamanuca Islands. The only ferry route is to Denarau on the mainland of Fiji, with three crossings per day, typically lasting around an hour. For those wondering where to spend their honeymoon, or for couples looking for a romantic getaway, Malolo Island Resort is the idyllic setting. It’s perfect for escaping the stress of modern day life and relaxing by a freshwater pool or on gorgeous sand beaches. For the more active couple or traveller, there are also ample watersports available, such as diving, sailing, kayaking, beach volleyball and wind surfing. For something in between sunbathing and kayaking, tours are available to view the nearby islands and the beautiful surrounding landscapes. Island hopping is also on offer at the resort, which is a desirable option as it combines most of the popular activities alongside the tour of the islands – the perfect hybrid of tranquility and fun. Away from the resort there are walking trails showcasing spectacular views, though it is worthwhile going in the early morning before the weather really heats up.
