Rab Guide

Rab Ferry Port

Rab is a Croatian Island residing in the Adriatic Sea, laying off the north coast of the mainland. The port is used as the gateway between Croatia and Italy, with crossings to Pesaro and Cesenatico on the west coast of the Italian mainland.

What is there to do in Rab?

The fact that Rab has recently been declared as a Geopark evinces the beautiful landscape that overwhelms the area. Pine forests provide a natural haven for an adventure in exotic lands; gorgeous foliage graces the walking trails, exuding a tropical vibe that is rare in a European climate. The northeast coast has a contrasting landscape to much of the island, dominated by towering cliffs and unique rock formations, there is a surprising amount of cultivation that is guarded by the imposing mountainside. It is unusual for a coastal resort to have natural parks that overshadow the beaches, yet the golden sands and azure blue waters still hold much of the appeal. Lopar Beach and Pudarica Beach are the most popular, though it is maybe worthwhile exploring other beaches in the height of summer when it is hard to find a space for your towel. After exploring the parks and bathing on the beach, a pleasant day can be spent perusing the landmarks that populate the centre. The Tower of St. Christopher, Cathedral of St. Mary The Great and St. Ivan Evangelista are the most prominent sacred buildings, demonstrating the stunning architecture.

How do you get around Rab?

Most choose to walk around much of Rab when they can, though driving around the picturesque scenery is also a popular option.
